I like it, but I don't at the same time...

I like this new front end, looks very muscular. I miss the projector fog lights, but these new lights(LED?) are nice. The grill also looks slightly slimmer as well. But the problems I've got with it are the facts that the grille looses those black "fangs" and the lower portion is too "Mustang" for me, but I digress.

This is where I have the most problems. I both love and hate the rear. The lower reflectors look nice with the bigger diffuser; but the bigger diffuser is also wrong. If it actually did something then I'd be okay with it, but no; it simply looks to boy-racer now and cheap. If they simply kept the body-colored bumper portion above the center exhaust then it'd be fine, or even better. The taillights are also a bit of a problem. They just shrunk them, they didn't change that portion at all, the panels to be exact. It looks kinda boring really; but I do like how the new taillight's turn signals work now. They look much more refined than the simple bulb in the current model, if only they stayed the same size:

Lastly the interior, it's perfect!

I love the flat-bottom steering wheel and the placement of the ST badge and it's a THREE SPOKE WHEEL! I LOVE THREE SPOKES! The interior is much cleaner, but I don't like how they changed the tach, it looks too simple, the current looks sportier and edgy. There are now lock buttons on the doors which is either convenient or inconvenient, the shifter location has some interesting buttons around it and I bet they moved the ESC/stability control right next to it as well. Hopefully they moved the cupholder placement from right where your arm rests for shifting, but I can't tell. But there's one serious, potential problem I don't think anyone is noticing here: WHERE IS THE HANDBRAKE?? I bet it's now electronic and next to the shifter now. For that reason, if that is indeed the case here, it's lost some of it's hoon-factor and I won't want one at all.

Also, if the new ST has improved suspension, I'm hoping that:

A- These parts, and some of the body panels(front fascia and hood) are compatible with the current car.

B- It'll be a simple bolt on for said parts.

Also, apparently the car is even lower than the current model? I don't see it. All in all, I personally give the refresh a 7.5/10, it has it's merits and it's fugly moments(i.e. THE DIFFUSER), but I will still hold final judgement until I see it in person. If I could, I would probably drive it as a daily, but I wouldn't wait until next year for it at all(I picked my ST up back in March). What do you think of the new refresh Oppo? What do you think of my oppinion?

I know exactly what you mean with love it and hate it, or just confuzion. I felt the same when I saw the 2015 Jetta. Yes, it is nice that it now has the LEDs, and the rims are better. But I am not completley won over by it. You will learn to like it more when you see it on the road though.

I still don't like the looks but it's better. The front wasn't the biggest problem, the rear needed the work.

The interior looks way better in every way, especially the wheel. I hope they added adjustable bolsters to the recaros, I know it's totally opposite of everyone else, but the recaros are the biggest dealbreaker on both the STs for me: they are too damn tight. I'm sure I'd love them at autocross, but daily they'd just be annoying

997s are the best 911s, good for all-around usage including track, AutoX, and DDing.

991s are good DDs because luxury everywhere.

I like the new headlights, as well as the infotainment/interior, though I HATE the rear diffuser. It looks so much fatter than the 2014.

looks to me like the handbrake is to the left of the new cup holder with sliding lid. It's down very low. I like my handbrake in the st3 personally but do want that sexy pocket. I noticed the move of the door lock switch as well. Brian also posted a pic with the sony radio that still features gloss black facia.
